Agreeing to these terms

These terms cover the MioType app and the MioType Cloud service. By downloading MioType or creating an account, you agree to them. MioType is made by an independent developer (“we”).

What MioType is

MioType is a macOS app for voice typing and translation. Its local features are free and need no account. MioType Cloud is an optional paid service: 100,000 cloud words a month for cloud speech recognition and AI polishing and translation without your own API key, plus cloud backup of your settings.

Your account

An account is for one person. Keep your sign-in details safe; you are responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has access to it, write to service@worldmetric.cn.

Payments, renewal and cancellation

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Dodo Payments. Dodo Payments is the Merchant of Record for all our orders: it processes payment, handles taxes and invoices, and provides customer service for orders and returns. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time in the app (Account → Manage subscription, which opens the Dodo Payments customer portal); cloud access continues until the end of the period you paid for.

Refunds

Any purchase or renewal can be refunded in full within 14 days of the charge. The details are in our Refund Policy.

Fair use

Please don’t resell or share access to MioType Cloud, use scripts or automation to consume the cloud allowance in bulk, try to get around the word allowance, or use MioType for anything illegal. We may suspend or close accounts that do.

Your content

What you dictate and translate is yours; we claim no ownership of it. When you use cloud features, your audio or text passes through our server to our speech and AI provider for processing and is not stored by us. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what we keep.

Availability and changes

MioType is provided “as is”. We work to keep MioType Cloud running but can’t promise it will never be interrupted. We may change features or prices and will give notice before changes that affect you; a price change never applies to a period you have already paid for.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost data or lost profits, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the version in effect; if a change matters, we will tell you before it takes effect. Using MioType after that means you accept the new terms.
